Main reasons why visas in Papua New Guinea get denied

Various visa categories are offered for Papua New Guinea. Unless you belong to a group that is exempt from visa requirements, you will need a visa even if you are only passing through Papua New Guinea. By securing a Papua New Guinea visa, you may go to the country as you had intended. For tourism, business, cultural, and other short-term purposes, foreign citizens may apply for short-term visas in the country online, via the embassy, or at the border. An entrance permit or visa is required for admission into the country for anybody traveling there for employment, business, study, or tourism. Depending on the purpose of the visit, visas may be acquired through the closest diplomatic post for single or multiple entries. Only qualified foreign citizens and under particular conditions are eligible for a visa on arrival at the International airports.

The grounds for visa denial

The following are the main grounds for visa denial in the country:

Expired passport

The bearer’s signature is required on the passport, which must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of the visitor’s stay in the country. The passport must contain free visa pages and be no more than 10 years old, or issued within the previous 10 years. The passport must be properly attached with undamaged photos. The passport is valid if it meets all of these requirements. The visa would be rejected if any of these conditions were not satisfied.

The requirement for photos is not satisfied

The picture must be in JPG or PNG format and cannot be less than 1MB in size or more than 10MB in size. Equal in height and breadth, with the eyes open and without glasses, the shot must show the subject’s whole face from the front. The head should be in the center of the shot, and the whole head, from the top of the hair to the bottom of the chin, must be seen. There should be no shadows on the face or the backdrop, and the background should be simple, light-colored, or white. Additionally, the image must be borderless. The visa application may be rejected if any of the picture criteria are not satisfied.

No travel plans

The applicant must provide a travel schedule outlining their intended route. Flight reservations must be included in the itinerary, along with a return ticket. The applicant must also have a confirmed reservation for a hotel or other lodging that includes the entire address (name, street, city, zip code, contact information, booking ref.). The visa will be denied if any of these are not presented.

Not enough money

If the applicant lacks the resources to sustain himself or herself throughout the intended stay in the country, the application for a visa will be rejected. Bank statements must be provided as evidence of financial capability when applying.

Not disclosing important information

All candidates who want to visit Papua New Guinea must be in excellent moral and physical condition. At the time of application, all candidates are required to complete a complimentary health form. Where asked, a medical health certificate and a certificate of police clearance may be needed. The length and goal of the visit will determine this. If a candidate has ever been convicted of a crime or is currently being investigated for one, they must reveal this information when applying. If this information is withheld, the visa application may be rejected.

Having a disease

If the applicant has a sickness that puts the community at risk, their request for a visa to the country will be rejected.

Criminality record

If the applicant has committed a criminal offense, whether or not they have been found guilty by a court of law, or if they are deemed to pose a threat to Papua New Guinea’s national security, their visa request may be rejected in the country.
