UAE: travel guide about visa

The United Arab Emirates also pertains to the UAE or the Emirates is a popular destination for tourists due to its fairly simple visa conditions compared to the neighboring countries in the Middle East. Still, like any other country, there are specific conditions that must be followed regarding immigration, occupancy visas, and work permits.

Conditions to gain UAE Visas

When applying for a tourist visa for the UAE, you must have several documents to support your operation, for example;

  • Photocopies of your passport and the passport of your guarantor. You may include photocopies of the applicable sheets of your passport (or all the sheets on your passport).
  •  Passport-size photos, in line with UAE visa print conditions.
  • If you’re a woman traveling alone, a No Expostulation Certificate (NOC) from your father or spouse.
  •  A verified round-trip airline ticket or an airline ticket for onward travel. However, the ticket must be from that airline, If you’re applying through an airline.
  •  Evidence of accommodation, similar to your hostel.
  •  Evidence of bought trip medical insurance for UAE.
  •  Evidence of legal residency in your country only applies if you aren’t a citizen of the country in which you’re living.
  •  Evidence of your current address.
  •  Marriage document.

Any extra documents are needed by the applicable visa-issuing authorities in Dubai/ UAE.

UAE Entry Permit

The UAE Entry Permit is the document you have to gain if you need a visa to enter the country. It’s valid for a certain number of days, depending on the purpose of the trip. 

Your guarantor has to get an entry permit for you before you travel by the General Directorate of Residency and non-natives Affairs (GDRFA). The number of days you’re allowed to stay in the UAE with an entry permit depends on the purpose of your trip. Still, you’ll need an entry permit (conveyance visa) for over 48 or 96 hours, if you’re traveling. Also, your entry permit is valid for over to 30 days (i.e., If youโ€™ll enter as a tourist. tourists visa). Still, your entry permit is valid for over to 60 days, etc, If youโ€™re entering for employment purposes.

Types of Visas 

Tourist Visas, which, as the name suggests, are issued for tourism purposes or any other purpose which is shorter than 30 days and doesn’t require you to take up employment and long-term residency in the UAE.

  • Residence Visas are for nonnatives who wish to move to the UAE. This includes;
  • Student Visa.
  • Work Visa.
  • Family Visa.
  • Retirement Visa.
  • Long-Term Residence Visas (Investor Visa), which is issued for a period of 5-10 years and doesn’t need a guarantor. Still, you must invest a substantial quantum of funds in the UAE to qualify for this type of visa.
  • Transit Visas, are issued to non-natives who have to convey through the UAE. They are handed over for 48 or 96 hours.

Duration of visa

When you get a UAE visa, you’ll generally have about 60 days to use it to enter the country. Upon entry, the number of days you’re allowed to stay in the UAE depends on the purpose of your trip. 

As a visitor, you can stay for a maximum of 30 days. However, you’re allowed to stay only for over 4 days, If you’re traveling. UAE visas for employment are issued for more than 2 months, during which time you have to convert it into a Residence Visa or leave the country. 

Costs of UAE visa 

A 96-hour Visa costs about 2,850 Rs (Express Visa Freights), while a Short Term Visit Single Entry- Service (14 days) costs Rs. 7310 (Express Visa Freights) meanwhile 90 days Visit Visa costs.Rs14,100.
