Immigration to the Netherlands from Pakistan

The Immigration and Naturalization Service (IND) of the Netherlands oversees immigration services. A Pakistani individual must initiate their visa application at the Dutch embassy in Islamabad before relocating to the Netherlands for studies, employment, or other reasons.

Visa categories for the Netherlands

There are four different visas available from the nation. They are:

Schengen (temporary)

This category applies to foreign nationals lawfully present who need immediate departure for events like weddings, medical emergencies, or funerals. Whether their residence permit is lost, stolen, or in the processing stage, they can lawfully exit the country and return with a valid permit. The 180-day term starts when you enter the country or another Schengen country.

Transit

For foreign visitors who are passing through an airport on their route to a place outside the Schengen zone, this is also known as an airport transit (A-visa). Without it, you can’t leave the air terminal. If you wish to leave the air terminal or proceed with your excursion via vehicle, rail, or transport to another Schengen country, you should apply for a Schengen visa.

Return

This classification is for foreign nationals who are legitimately present but have to leave the nation immediately for a wedding, an emergency clinical arrangement, or a burial service. Their home license is either lost, taken, or in the process of being handled. You can in any case leave the nation legally and return with your residency grant, regardless of whether it’s stolen or invalid. Because this is a national (Dutch) visa, it is only valid in the Netherlands. It is available for application at the nearby IND desk.

MVV authorization for a short stay

If you require a Schengen visa and want to remain in the country for more than 90 days, you must first apply for both an MVV and a residency permit. The MVV (Machtiging tot Voorlopig Verblijf) is a temporary residency permit even though it permits admission into the nation. With the MVV, you may enter the Netherlands as a potential resident rather than a tourist. You may remain while your application for a resident visa is being considered thanks to the MVV.

Application procedure

You must apply for your visa in person at the Dutch embassy in Pakistan.

Pick the right visa type

Pick the right visa for your trip. The principal thing to do is to affirm that the motivation behind your visit is clear. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which processes your visa application, decides how long the process will require.

Schedule the application

To submit your visa application, make an appointment. Bring any required supporting documentation with you to this appointment. If your application is supported, the Dutch embassy will add a visa mark to your ID. Booking your trip to the Netherlands is suggested, yet you ought to defer making any payment until your visa has been given.

Submit the necessary paperwork

A passport or other travel document that is no older than 10 years must be shown. This must have at least two blank pages and be valid for at least three months after the day you want to leave the Schengen area. A properly filled-out application form with your signature is required. You must fill out an application for each travel companion listed in your travel papers. All paperwork for minors must be signed by the parent or legal guardian.

Get your passport

Visit the embassy to get your passport. When your application has been endorsed, you can get your papers at the embassy. A current ID card and the visa receipt must be brought.

You may enter the nation if your visa has been approved. You will get written notice if your request has been rejected.
