Mongolia has 178 higher education universities, with more than 100 of them being private. However, public universities have a stronger standing for excellence, thus nearly 100,000 of the 145,000 students attend one of the 48 public universities. Colleges, universities, and organizations make up the Country’s higher education sector.

Top universities in Mongolia

Mongolian University of Science and Technology (MUST)

As per the Webometrics Academia Index, MUST is one of the Country’s leading public institutions. 13 campuses focus on research, engineering, and technology. There are over 30 investigation and exploratory establishments and centers at the institution.

National University of Mongolia (NUM)

NUM is often regarded as the greatest in the country. The countryโ€™s most inexpensive institution includes three facilities: two in the provinces of Zavkhan and Orkhon Aimags, and one in Ulaanbaatar, the capital.

There are 12 departments in total, with around 21,000 students registered. There are no examinations or meetings in the entry procedure, and there are student dormitories.

Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences (MNUMS)

MNUMS comprises six colleges: dental, healthcare, public health, medical, bioscience, and pharmaceutical. Mongolia’s institution also features three health care colleges. Sainshand, Darkhan-Uul, and Gobi-Altai are the provinces where MNUMS has three branches.

University of Finance and Economics (UFE)

The UFE is among Mongolia’s earliest secondary learning institutes, having been founded in 1924. Ulaanbaatar, the country’s capital, is home to the institution. It offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees through seven divisions. They provide a scholarship program for the top candidates. They may be eligible for a tuition discount ranging from 25% to 100% depending on their GPA.

Mongolian University of Life Sciencesโ€ฏ(MULS)

In 1942, the MULS was founded as a department of Mongolian academia. It was reorganized and became an autonomous organization a few years later. Agro-ecology, animal health, economics and management, environmental sciences and biotechnology, and architecture and technology are among the five faculties at MULS. There is also a college, four scientific centers, and other sports facilities at this Mongolian institution.

Mongolian State University of Arts and Culture

As per Webometrics’ rating, the MSUAC is one of the country’s leading upper educational schools for those who are more imaginative and enjoy presenting themselves via the arts. There are 26 bachelor’s degrees, 34 master’s degrees, and two Ph.D. degrees available.

The institution has six faculties, a dance academy, a linguistic institute, and a scientific research center. All of the programs have sophisticated facilities.

Mongolia International University (MIU)

MIU was established in 2002 and is a rather new institution. Nevertheless, as per Webometrics’ rating, it is already the 7th top institution in the country. This independent institution provides potential students with a variety of educational degrees.

Double degree programs with institutions in the United States are also available. The courses are all taught in English. It has roughly 800 students, with international students accounting for 34% of the total.

Ulaanbaatar State University (USU)

The USU situated in the capital city is a state institution with 10 faculties and 44 bachelor’s degree programs. This Mongolian institution is also home to a scientific unit that is presently working on 13 programs. They also have partnerships with institutions in Asia and Europe for collaboration and exchange.

Mandrake University

It was founded in 1992 as a private organization. As per Webometrics’ assessment, it is among Mongolia’s top 20 universities. Accountancy, physics and technology, and finance and business are the three divisions at the institution. Budgetary control, business administration, data management, computer technology, technical economics, and several specialties in accounting are among the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees offered.

Ider University

Ider University, which first opened its doors in 1995, is another private higher education institution that offers excellent prospects for overseas students due to its English-language programs.

There are 14 programs offered by the institution’s three schools. They also provide a wide range of bachelor’s and master’s programs, which are in high demand from overseas students.
