Kazakhstan: universities for ex-pats

The country is a melting pot of civilizations, resulting in a cultural and educational system that is diverse. The following is a small list of universities in Kazakhstan that you may wish to look into if you plan to study there.

Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University

The first Kazakh secondary learning organization, Kazakh Stat, was founded on September 1, 1928. The Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University is one of the Country’s most important higher education institutes. A concept of higher learning has been designed and is on the verge of being implemented at the university level. KNPU and its branches now include ten disciplines.

Specialized teaching is conducted by 60 chairs in 54 disciplines. The institution has about 25,000 students enrolled in full-time, part-time, online courses, and evening programs. There are numerous different pre-university courses. Abai KNPU has joined the European Universities Association. The membership signifies that the agreement’s member adheres to all global criteria in the fields of learning and research.

Auezov South Kazakhstan State University (SKSU)

SKSU is Kazakhstan’s largest local university and has long been ranked first among the Country’s higher education institutions. The academia provides 47 master’s degrees in fields such as education, law, sociology, economics, humanistic, engineering, and technology specialties, heritage, and literature. SKSU has nine Ph.D. courses to choose from. 1675 highly qualified faculty members deliver education in three languages: Kazakh, Russian, and English.

The academic system is conducted on a credit technology foundation and aims to provide students with a unique learning approach, a large number of academic subjects, and a wide range of program options. The SKSU faculty successfully integrates innovative techniques, new ways, and techniques of teaching into the classroom.

Kazakh National Research Technical University

The KNRTU aspires to be a global scientific institution that connects intellectuals and students. The oldest and one of Kazakhstan’s most prominent technical colleges, known for innovations in the mineral and oil industries. The academe has been associated with scientific advancement and prominence in the Country for more than 80 years. It is interdisciplinary academia that also teaches architecture and administration.

L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU)

Kazakhstan’s L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University is the only new institution of higher education in the QS Top 50 Under 50. ENU is a participant in the governmental program “Development of an education hub in Central Asia” and now has over 3% of foreign students from 25 countries. ENU is aiming to improve facilities for foreign students, thus the WELCOME center is available to them.

Professors and staff at ENU have embraced and helped encourage the Bologna concepts of educational mobility. ENU has been able to transfer its students overseas to study at top colleges. It welcomes students from Europe, Asia, and North America as a result of its active attitude toward inclusion in the global academic arena.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University

Al-Farabi KazNU is the Republic of Kazakhstan’s major further education college of advanced learning and one of Central Asia’s prestigious unis. KazNU, the state’s eldest institution, will mark its 85th anniversary in 2019. KazNU’s graduates include not just the best Kazakh scholars, but also a large number of politicians, governors, top executives, parliamentarians, CEOs of national enterprises, and Olympic victors. 

In Kazakhstan’s historical record, the institution was the first recipient of the state prize “For Achievements in the Area of Quality” and the first recipient of the CIS award.
